Great job Tigers! On this Friday’s game Jesuit received their first win of the season with a whopping 38-7 score! Once the last touchdown was scored the buzzer went off, radiating throughout Jesuit’s campus’ signaling their first win. As always, the football players rejoiced in singing their traditional Alma Mater out on the football field for fans and family members to watch.

Although all of the student body was ecstatic for their team’s successful win, everyone really knew the thoughts swirling around in each of each others minds’: the dance! With anticipation and excitement arising, Freshmen girls were scrambling around seeking out their fellow Jesuit brothers to accompany them to the dance (I remember my freshman year paying a random Jesuit student to walk me into the dance — thats the best part!..Right?) Walking around the dance and watching all the Freshmen dance brought back a wave of flashbacks.

After getting to know some of the Freshmen girls and talking about their goals and aspirations for High School, I asked them their thoughts on the dance. I thought it would be interesting to get their expected point of view versus their actual point of view of the dance. “I expected the dance to be a lot of fun, and I wasn’t disappointed! The music was great and everyone was dancing. I had a really good time” exclaims Freshman, Molly Flemming. Gaining a different prospective, Freshman Miranda Lyles comments, “Before the dance I was really nervous. I knew that there was going to be a lot of people there and I was excited to meet other students but, when I got there it was really loud and crowded. It wasn’t as fun as I thought it would be”.

The Back to School Dance is a great way to socialize and get to know other students in each grade. Missed the dance? Don’t worry! This is an annual event and is provided for all four grades. This dance enables students to sparks friendships that they will carry on for the rest of their lives as well as the sisterhood bond.
