The Jaguarette Dance Team started their 2012-13 season early but with significant success, winning top awards at the Universal Dance Association (UDA) Convention Camp on July 11-13, at the Tradewinds Resort in St. Petersburg Beach.
The girls won the Overall Superior Trophy that included points for Superior ratings in the Final Judging for two routines they learned at the camp, totalling 42 ribbons for the team, as well as multiple Drill Down ribbons. To top their achievements, the team earned an invitation to the Capital One Bowl in Orlando on New Year’s Day and the United Dance Association (UDA) Nationals at Walt Disney Resort in Orlando on February 1-3.
The Pay It Forward Recognition went to senior Annie Polo. Veronica Sanchez, Hannah Crall, Courtney Mastrorio, Carly King, Maddie Matesich, and Hannah McCarthy all received Special Team 110% Recognitions. Jaguarette Seniors received invitations to perform in the annual Macys Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City with the All Americans.
Receiving an invitation on to dance in the London New Year’s Eve Parade were Annie Polo, Jane Lazzara, Hannah McCarthy, Rachel Astorquiza, Maddie Cahill, and Hannah Crall.
The 2012-2013 Jaguarettes Team Roster includes Captain Annie Polo, Co-Captains Sarah Shakespeare and Jane Lazzara. Other team members for this year are seniors Anna Cevallos and Demi Curbelo, juniors Rachel Astroquiza, Maddie Cahill, Lizzie Emanuel, Hannah Crall, Theresa Lopez and Hannah McCarthy.
With a great start to the upcoming season of dance competitions, the Jaguarettes look promising to roar past their competitors this year.
